Disaster Grants Available Following April Tornado Outbreak in Enid

By OHFA Communications

ENID - Enid residents whose homes were left uninhabitable following the April 23 tornado outbreak can apply for $1,500 grants from the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA).  Applications will be accepted in person May 14 in Enid at the Stride Event Center, 301 N. Independence St., as part of Enid’s Rebuild & Recover event. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a seated dinner at 6 p.m.

“Our hope is that these grants may provide some peace of mind to those affected by these devastating storms,” said Deborah Jenkins, OHFA executive director. “We want to help ease the burden brought by a disaster of this nature.”

OHFA’s Richard S. Lillard Emergency Housing Assistance Fund provides up to $500,000 annually to help Oklahomans displaced following a natural disaster. Applicants may apply for up to $1,500 in funds for up to 60 days after a federally declared disaster that has impacted at least 25 families, and where the Governor has declared a state of emergency.

For more information, call (405) 419-8196 or visit www.ohfa.org/lillardfund.
