OHFA Seeks Landlords for Emergency Voucher Program

By OHFA Communications

OHFA now offers Emergency Housing Vouchers to individuals and families facing homelessness or fleeing crisis situations such as domestic violence, human trafficking, or stalking.

Landlords are needed so that participants can quickly move into safe and affordable rental housing.
OHFA receives referrals for the vouchers only from community agencies across the state.

Applications for the newly launched program have been swift. Recognizing the barriers faced by these families, OHFA offers a$350 incentive fee to the landlord for each contract. Payment standards have also been increased. OHFA also coordinates with referral agencies to assist with utility and rental unit deposits.

Landlords interested in participating in the program should contact one of the referral agencies listed on the OHFA website to let them know they have a rental unit available.

“We’re moving families into a life of stability,” said Tim Shackelford, OHFA Rental Programs Director. “Let’s continue to work together to provide housing for Oklahomans most in need.”
