OHFA Steps in Following Destructive Tornadoes

Tornadoes that ripped through several Oklahoma communities May 19, 20 and 31 left tens of thousands of homes destroyed or temporarily uninhabitable. Following the first two storms, Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency made available grants that could be used for hotel stays, first month’s rent or security and utility deposits. OHFA made $500,000 available for the grants and assisted 400 households with immediate housing expenses.

The grant has been renamed the Richard S. Lillard Emergency Housing Assistance Fund. OHFA utilizes the grants to assist families whose homes have been left uninhabitable following catastrophic events such as wildfires, tornadoes, and floods.
