NATIONAL HOUSING TRUST FUND

OVERVIEW

The National Housing Trust Fund supplements existing federal, state and local efforts that increase and preserve the supply of affordable housing. Individuals who are low and very low-income, including homeless families, benefit from NHTF developments.

Eligible partners include local governments, non-profits, for-profits, Public Housing Authorities, and tribal entities.

Application Materials & Program Resources

November 17, 2023 - OHFA has approximately $1.5 million 2023 HTF Program Year funds and is currently accepting Applications. Applicants applying for NHTF in conjunction with Affordable Housing Tax Credits are also eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is January 11, 2024. Those Applications will be considered at the May 15, 2024 meeting of OHFA’s Board of Trustees.

 

National Housing Trust Fund-assisted units must have a minimum affordability period of 30 years.

Oklahoma must use at least 80% of each annual grant for rental housing; up to 10% for home ownership; and up to 10% for OHFA’s reasonable administrative and planning costs.
