The National Housing Trust Fund supplements existing federal, state and local efforts that increase and preserve the supply of affordable housing. Individuals who are low and very low-income, including homeless families, benefit from NHTF developments.
Eligible partners include local governments, non-profits, for-profits, Public Housing Authorities, and tribal entities.

OHFA will begin accepting Applications for 2026 NHTF Program Year funds on May 13, 2026. The deadline for submitting an application will be June 25, 2026. Those Applications will be considered at the September 23, 2026 meeting of OHFA’s Board of Trustees.
National Housing Trust Fund-assisted units must have a minimum affordability period of 30 years.
Oklahoma must use at least 80% of each annual grant for rental housing; up to 10% for home ownership; and up to 10% for OHFA’s reasonable administrative and planning costs.
