Trustees Approve HOME Grants

OKLAHOMA CITY—At its Nov. 19 meeting, the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency Board of Trustees voted to award HOME Investment Partnerships Program grants that will lead to an increase in available housing options in their respective communities. OHFA provides grants to non-profit organizations, Public Housing Authorities, Community Housing Development Organizations, local or tribal governments, and private developers to assist low-income households with housing needs.

The following organizations were awarded grants:

Building New Foundations, Inc. - new construction of three single family rental homes in Canadian County
Housing for Communities, Inc. - new construction of three homes in Logan County for homebuyers

In addition to grants to create affordable housing, these entities also received Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) operating awards:

Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group, Inc. - new construction of two single family rental homes in Jackson County
Native American Housing Services, Inc. - new construction of two homes in Pottawatomie County for homebuyers
Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City, Inc. - acquisition and rehabilitation of two single family rental homes in Oklahoma County
Community Housing Partners of Oklahoma, Inc. - acquisition and rehabilitation of three single family homes in Canadian County for homebuyers
OKC Housing Services Redevelopment Corporation - new construction of three homes in Logan County for homebuyers
Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City & Oklahoma/Canadian Counties, Inc. will utilize its grant to provide downpayment assistance to twelve homebuyers in Oklahoma and Canadian Counties.
