Rooted in Stability

As the widowed father of a young daughter, Antwon dreamed of a home where he and CeeCee could build memories. Habitat for Humanity of Central Oklahoma utilized a construction loan from the Oklahoma Housing Stability Program to make his dream possible. OHFA celebrated at their home dedication ceremony, as they became the program's first-ever homeowners. Antwon and CeeCee have planted roots in a thriving community and a brand new home where she can grow and flourish.

Sophia and Carolyn find quiet living and peace of mind living at the Estates of Weatherford, a community for seniors. Sophia enjoys sitting on the patio, watching the planes come and go from nearby Weatherford Stafford Airport. Carolyn finds comfort in looking after her neighbors and baking delicious cakes. This thriving community has been made possible through the Affordable Housing Tax Credits program, ensuring below market rental rates.

After years of renting and housing instability, Holly wanted a home she could truly call her own. With the help of OHFA's Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program coupled with OHFA Down Payment Assistance, she closed on a home last summer. With the fear of eviction behind her, Holly finds peace and comfort surrounded by the love of her son and her pets. For Holly, home is now more than shelter—it’s the place where new memories gently take root.

This past year, 2,403 Oklahomans planted their roots with OHFA’s down payment assistance, making homeownership more attainable. Behind each new beginning stands OHFA’s network of Participating Lending Partners and Blue Ribbon Real Estate Agents—nurturing dreams, providing stability, and guiding growth. With care, guidance, and expertise, they help homebuyers branch out with confidence, ensuring that every home starts with deep roots and the promise of a flourishing future.

Rooted in Personal Growth

OHFA's Family Self Sufficiency program turns uncertainty into opportunity,. Kierra, a participant in the FSS program, completed OHFA's first-ever STAAR (Services that Assist and Redeem) Foundation Adult Pathway to Excellence cohort. Throughout this 12-week program, Kierra and her classmates learned valuable life skills. Kierra also attended OHFA's homeownership seminar where she learned valuable information about the homebuying process. These opportunities planted seeds of opportunity so she can achieve her goals of purchasing a home and returning to school.

Homebuyers Used OHFA Down Payment Assistance

Through an extensive network of mortgage lenders, OHFA's down payment assistance products ease the upfront costs of buying a home. In 2025, OHFA leveraged the Oklahoma Housing Stability Program and the Oklahoma Housing Trust Fund to provide an additional 5% down payment assistance to the buyer of this house in Ardmore.

Contributions made to the United Way of Central Oklahoma

OHFA employees gave back to the community through generous contributions to the United Way of Central Oklahoma. Team members also volunteered their time through blood drives and OHFA Gives Back days at nonprofit organizations including Pivot, ReMerge, and Neighborhood Services of Oklahoma. Housing Choice Voucher Program

An average of 9,898 families assisted with Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance each month
$82 million in Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance provided in 2025
$692 - average amount of rental assistance received per assisted household each month
OHFA made $2.2 million in payments through the Emergency Housing Voucher program, providing hope to families at-risk of homelessness
15 participants completed requirements for the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program
Family Self-Sufficiency participants completed OHFA’s 12-week STAAR (Services that Assist and Redeem) Foundation program, learning life skills and becoming homeownership-ready
FSS graduates saved an average of $3,738 in their escrow accounts
Four Oklahoma families purchased homes through the Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program
OHFA worked with other organizations to assist some of our state's most vulnerable residents. 221 renters were referred to OHFA for Special Housing Vouchers due to extenuating circumstances
After devastating wildfires in the spring, OHFA activated the Richard S. Lillard Disaster Fund, providing 131 households with $1,500 grants to assist with immediate housing expenses

Housing Development Programs

The Oklahoma Housing Stability Program generated 33 loans in 29 different counties that will lead to the new construction of both for-sale homes and rental communities
OHFA closed $281 million in private activity bond cap to increase rental housing stock
OHFA's Housing Development programs generated 2,574 additional housing units in 2025
Compliance specialists conducted 3,528 tax credit, HOME, and FDIC file reviews and inspections
59 households received assistance as part of the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program

Performance Based Contract Administration

OHFA provides Performance Based Contract Administration (PBCA) services to 165 properties across the state.
12,578 households receive rental assistance through PBCA
$93.6 million in rental assistance paid on behalf of PBCA residents
OHFA PBCA specialists completed 109 rent adjustments in 2025
PBCA specialists responded to 237 tenant issue follow-ups in 2025
PBCA specialists completed 83 Management Occupancy Reports (MORs)

OHFA celebrates 50 years of opening doors in 2026

On May 1, 1975 Governor David Boren signed the trust indenture creating the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency. This paved the way for OHFA to open its doors to serve the people of Oklahoma in 1976.
