All OHFA programs and services are fully operational.
OHFA’s lobby at 205 N.W. 63rd, Suite 140 is open to the public. Clients are encouraged to drop paperwork into the drop box, located inside OHFA’s doors between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. After hours, clients may utilize a second outdoor drop box located near the building’s east entrance.
Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)
- Some in-person certification/recertification appointments are being scheduled by OHFA.
- OHFA is conducting Annual/Biennial inspections.
- New unit inspections may be completed using a variety of methods such as
- in-person, virtual inspection
- The use of a non-life-threatening certification form until an inspection can be conducted at a later date.
Affordable Housing Tax Credits, HOME, Housing Trust Funds, HOPWA, FDIC’s Affordable Housing Program
On July 1, 2020, the Internal Revenue Service published Notice 2020-53 and on January 15, 2021, the IRS published Notice 2021-12 extending temporary relief to owners and residents of Housing Credit and tax-exempt bond-financed developments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
OHFA Compliance will be impacted as follows:
OHFA LIHTC compliance will begin physical inspections August 1, 2021 but will continue to perform desk-top inspections submitted through our secure portal.
OHFA LIHTC Compliance is NOT extending the moratorium on recertifications in 2021. We will review any difficulties obtaining documents and/or signatures for recertifications based on specific facts. Please email Sandra McGougan at [email protected] to inform the compliance department if there are specific issues.
The physical LIHTC inspections due for the remainder of 2020 through July 31, 2021 will be suspended. OHFA will continue to perform desktop monitoring for all sites scheduled to be inspected indefinitely.
HOME, National HTF, and FDIC document inspections will continue to be conducted electronically and at Grantee offices as needed when safe to do so. All inspections will continue to be conducted per program guidelines throughout construction/rehab and at final completion.
Tenant file reviews will continue to be conducted electronically. More information will be given to impacted sites as these are scheduled.
OHFA LIHTC Compliance will make exceptions for owner/management to prove supportive service requirements and/or tenant involvement participation requirements made for the 2020 year and the first three quarters of 2021.
