$2.2 Million Awarded by Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency Assists Low-income Homeowners
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency’s Board of Trustees approved during its July meeting Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) homeowner rehabilitation contracts totaling $2.2 million. OHFA is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated state Participating Jurisdiction.
Homeowner rehabilitation funds are used to make essential improvements, bring houses up to physical codes, as well as improve energy efficiency and handicapped accessibility. They address a critical need for low-income homeowners who do not have the financial resources to make the necessary physical improvements to their homes.
The following Oklahoma organizations and municipalities received funding:
• The City of Bristow received $179,488 for the rehabilitation of two homes in the City of Bristow. It also received an administrative award of $8,974.
• United Community Action Program, Inc. received $179,488 for the rehabilitation of two homes in the City of Bristow. It also received an administrative award of $8,974.
• United Community Action Program, Inc. received a second award of $179,488 for the rehabilitation of two additional homes in the City of Bristow. It also received a second administrative award of $8,974.
• Community Development Support Association, Inc. received $194,975 for the rehabilitation of five homes in the City of Enid. It also received an administrative award of $9,749.
• Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group, Inc. received $200,000 for the rehabilitation of eight homes in the City of Gould. It also received an administrative award of $10,000.
• Little Dixie Community Action Agency, Inc. received $200,000 for the rehabilitation of three homes in the City of Hugo. It also received an administrative award of $10,000.
• Community Development Support Association, Inc. received $180,194 for the rehabilitation of five homes in Garfield County. It also received an administrative award of $9,010
• Community Housing Association for Rehabilitative Measures and Effective Development received $200,000 for the rehabilitation of three homes in Pottawatomie County. It also received an administrative award of $10,000.
• Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group, Inc. received $191,900 for the rehabilitation of four homes in the Town of Olustee. It also received an administrative award of $9,595.
• The Town of Paden received $200,000 for the rehabilitation of three homes in the Town of Paden. It also received an administrative award of $10,000.
• The Town of Warner received $200,000 for the rehabilitation of three homes in the Town of Warner. It also received an administrative award of $10,000.
HOME encourages local governments and nonprofit housing organizations to build new homes, rehabilitate existing housing or make structural home repairs. HOME is designed to encourage partnerships to fund construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing for low-income families, particularly in rural Oklahoma.
