Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency Honors Excellence with 2008 Apex Awards

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency has awarded a record 19 Apex Awards for contributions made in affordable housing from January to December 2007. Presented July 23 at OHFA’s Board of Trustees meeting in Oklahoma City, the annual Apex Awards recognize people and organizations committed to affordable housing in Oklahoma.

Apex Award recipients and their award categories were:

● RESCO Enterprises - Friend of Affordable Housing
● Texas County Housing Authority – Home Ownership
● Southridge Apartments, Inc. – Rural Housing
● Whispering Hills Apartments in Stillwater – Rental Housing
● Enid Paints the Town Project – Innovative Housing Development
● Lee Property Management Co. – Management of Affordable Housing
● Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity – Home Ownership
● Jim McKay, Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity volunteer – Friend of Affordable Housing
● Little Dixie Community Action Agency – Community Development
● Ron Walker, Little Dixie Community Action Agency housing director – Friend of Affordable Housing
● State Representative Randy McDaniel of District 83  – Friend of Affordable Housing
● DeBruler, Inc. – Friend of Affordable Housing
● Midwest Housing Equity Group’s Oklahoma Operations & Investment Committee members: Bob Spinks, Dennis Brand, Roger Beverage, Kenyon Morgan and Brad Krieger – Friend of Affordable Housing

Each spring, OHFA accepts nominations for the Apex Awards. There is no application fee and all Oklahoma affordable housing entities and professionals are invited to apply. To receive a nomination form for the 2009 Apex Awards, email communications@ohfa.org.
