Urban League of
Greater Oklahoma City Recognized by Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency
with Apex Award
OKLAHOMA CITY –
Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City received an Apex Award for
Community Development from Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency for
contributions made in affordable housing from January to December
2006. Presented July 19 at OHFA’s Board of Trustees meeting in
Oklahoma City, the annual Apex Awards recognize people and
organizations in Oklahoma committed to affordable housing.
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City completed construction of
two homes in the Mt. Sterling neighborhood in northeast Oklahoma
City, bringing its total development in the area to 14 new homes.
Thirteen of the homes have been purchased, and the last one is under
contract. All of the homes are income restricted and typically sell
between $75,000 and $85,000. Situated on formerly vacant lots, the
Mt. Sterling neighborhood has increased property values in the area
from an average of $40,000 to $120,000.
