Agency Awards HOME Funding
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Housing
Finance Agency’s Board of Trustees approved Home Investment Partnerships
Program (HOME) contracts at its January meeting to build or rehabilitate
affordable housing in Oklahoma. OHFA is a U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development designated state Participating Jurisdiction.
The following Oklahoma organizations
received funding:
• C.H.A.R.M.E.D. received $39,995
to acquire and rehabilitate a single-family home in Shawnee. It also
received $59,500 to acquire and rehabilitate a single-family home in
Wewoka.
• Community Action Development Corp. (CADC) received $100,000 for
the construction of two single-family homes in Frederick.
• Cookson Hills Community Action Foundation, Inc. received $99,000
for the construction of two rental houses in Tahlequah.
• Deep Fork Community Action Foundation, Inc. was awarded a total of
$530,000 in HOME funding. It received $220,000 for the construction of
20 single-family homes in McIntosh, Okmulgee and Okfuskee Counties and
$206,000 for the construction of 20 single-family homes in Creek,
Muskogee and Wagoner Counties. Deep Fork also received $104,000 for the
American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) in Hughes County. The grant
will provide down payment assistance for 10 homes.
• Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services
received $330,000 for tenant-based rental assistance in Adair, Beckham,
Bryan, Canadian, Carter, Cherokee, Cleveland, Craig, Creek, Custer,
Delaware, Kay, Mayes, Nowata, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Ottawa,
Payne, Pontotoc, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington
Counties. It also received an administrative award of $13,200.
HOME encourages local governments and
nonprofit housing organizations to build new homes, rehabilitate
existing housing or make structural home repairs. HOME is designed to
encourage partnerships to fund construction and rehabilitation of
affordable housing for low-income families, particularly in rural
Oklahoma.
As Oklahoma’s largest provider of
affordable housing, OHFA offers nine housing programs ranging from “OHFA
Advantage” for home ownership to housing development and rental
assistance.
